Gearing up: new GT2 cockpit

Are you ready for the next Sim Lab sim-racing chassis? We named it GT2.

Here are the first pictures of the new sim-racing chassis. It features front mounting for the Fanatec Clubsport wheelbase and Direct-Drive servo’s. The Dashboard bracket frees up space above the knees which make it more comfortable. Supported are the small and big MiGe 130ST, Bodnar simsteering servo’s and the AccuForce. Other types of course on demand. The pedal deck is adjustable back and forwards and can be tilted to find the optimum position. The angle of the wheel bracket can be adjusted as well.

“With the GT2 we strived for a compact chassis, but still be able to be compatible with direct drive steering wheels and offer great stability.”

Available from 1st of May!

Very compact means also that this rig is only recommended for small/normal people. Tall people have to forget these solution.

      Hello,

You misinterpreted the term compact, the pedal deck can be adjusted far beyond the average body length. So unless your legs are +160cm, everyone can fit into it 🙂

        Hello Richard.
Thanks for your answer. You know I am tall close than 2 meters.
On a rig, I need from 1,40 to 1,50 meters between the back of the seat and the end of the pedals plate. But, you says the rig is 1m30 so I am not sure it is enough for tall people. Of course, we can bend the legs but it will not very confortable. I know that few people are concerned by my comment but I want to say it.
I studied all the rigs on the web and the size is from 1,20 to 1,80. It si easy to understand that tall people will have problems with some of them.
In conclusion, I have to say your new rig is ingeniuous (well done !) and it will be perfect for 90 % of the simracers.

          Hi,

Understand your concern, it would indeed be critical. But it wouldnt be much of an effort to deliver the GT2 with custom sized base profiles. So feel free to shoot a message anytime 🙂

Hi Richard, this rig looks great! Any wobble when using strong DD servo wheel or braking hard? I presume absolutely not 🙂

    Looks nice RIchard!
Can the monitor brackets for a triple monitor setup be attached to this rig?
Can the tilted profiles carry 3 monitors without sagging and or getting wobbely under load?
What are the dimensions of the rig?
    Can i mount a handbreak?

Thanks! The GT2 will have its own triple brackets, and we are working also on some nice “upgrade”. Dimensions roughly 550 x 1300 mm. A video will be posted to show how it holds up with a DD wheel.

    Hey Guys.
Is it right that this Rig only for Fanatec- and DD Wheels and Pedals? No mounting options for other Wheels and Pedals like Thrustmaster or Logitech?

Price now available. We will release a separate monitor mount for the GT2, a bit simpler, but effective.

Ok. Will this happen the same time since i will purchase both together to save costs? Will there be any promo code?

Wow – very, very Nice !!! Thank you!
When will all be available in the Shop ?
Cockpit GT2 + Triple Monitor Mount + CS Shifter Mount ?

Will the Mousepad and Keyboard Tray V2 also fit at the GT2?

          2. Richard Schouteren Post author

Very soon! About ~2 weeks. There will be 2 types of mounts available, the small version will come with the GT2. The bigger one as shown on the picture is the large version. Both tray and mousepad will work on the GT2.

    Looks great,
Strong compact and no frills, looks like a great VR rig for me. Bit scared to see the fright to Australia, but expect an order from me if it’s reasonable!

hi Mark, the rigidity turned out way better then I was hoping for after the first test builds! Also we introduce a new type of lighter profile to this chassis which saves weight in the total package.

Since it is very narrow and short is there an option so make an idea how to mount 5.1 speakers like the logitech 5500? One could be under the monitor, two on the front somewhere and on the back some kind of extension must be used to make it wider.

I would like to get the GT2 with a bracket system that works like the bracket triple mount that connects to the GT1. Will that GT1 brackets work with the GT2 or will there be a GT2 solution?

Hi Steven, we will be releasing a simple dedicated screen support (single) for the GT2 chassis in a short time.

What about the Triple Monitor Mount + CS Shifter Mount ??
Will they available on 1st May, too ?

I hope there is not only a Sigle Monitor Mount for the GT2?

I need a Triple Monitor Mount and the CS Shifter Mount for the GT2 Chassis!

Hi Max, for a triple mount I would really advise to go for the triple loose standing type. Side mount will be available also 1 May.

How soon will you be shipping GT2 to USA & will a wheel deck version be available right away? This is by far the best solution for my needs. I am dealing with very tight space so size is of great importance. Was just about to order a competitor’s (steel) chassis when I saw the first pics of the GT2. The footprint is perfect. Would order today if it was available. Thanks for producing such an awesome product.

Hey, is the width of the rig 550mm or 680mm? A few posts above you said it would be roughly 550mm, but in the description it says 680mm width.
And the price of 479€ is going to be including the dashboard mount?

Hi Christoph, The width is actually 500 mm. Its quite compact. Yes its all included, except the side mount.

Hey Thomas, GT1 is all-round in all aspects. The GT2 is more compact and is a bit more ergonomic for getting in and out. The GT1 is more versatile for mounting peripherals later on.
