F1 Sim Racing Steering Wheels

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Sim Racing Steering Wheel is an officially licensed F1 sim racing steering wheel developed using CAD data supplied by the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team.

Its handcrafted carbon-fibre shell, compact 280 mm diameter, 4.3-inch display and authentic controls recreate the dimensions and feel of the real Formula One steering wheel. For a more compact Formula-style alternative, the GRID MPX V2 combines a 295 mm format with full aluminium construction and configurable controls.

Wheelbase Compatibility and Mounting

Sim-Lab steering wheels are designed for PC and use USB for data together with a standard 70 mm mounting pattern, giving you flexibility when choosing a compatible sim racing wheelbase.
For the cleanest integration, pair your steering wheel with a DDS TorqueSync™ Direct Drive Wheelbase and XERO-PLAY™ V2 Quick Release. DDS offers 26 Nm or 39 Nm of torque together with USB data passthrough, so compatible wheel data can be routed through the wheelbase and quick release.

Other PC wheelbases can also be used with the appropriate hub or quick-release adapter. Always check the individual steering-wheel product page for exact compatibility before ordering.
A rigid Sim-Lab aluminium-profile cockpit provides a stable mounting platform for your wheelbase, steering wheel and other sim racing hardware.

GT Sim Racing Steering Wheels

If you prefer GT and endurance racing, the GTSL Pro combines a 300 mm GT-style shape with dual clutch paddles, rotary controls and RPM LEDs.

For an endurance-inspired setup, the officially licensed Porsche 911 RSR Sim Racing Steering Wheel brings the distinctive controls, display and design of the Porsche race-car steering wheel to a PC sim racing setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Sim-Lab sim racing steering wheel should I choose?

Choose your sim racing steering wheel based on the cars you drive and the type of controls and driving position you prefer.

For Formula racing, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Sim Racing Steering Wheel offers the closest experience to a modern F1-style layout, while the GRID MPX V2 provides a compact and versatile Formula-style alternative.

For GT and endurance racing, the GTSL Pro offers a dedicated GT layout, while the officially licensed Porsche 911 RSR Sim Racing Steering Wheel is designed for an endurance-inspired setup.

What is force feedback in sim racing?

Force feedback is generated by the wheelbase and transmitted through the steering wheel. It lets you feel changes in steering load, road surface, tyre grip, kerbs and loss of traction as you drive. A rigid steering wheel and secure quick-release connection help preserve these details, giving you clearer feedback about what the car is doing on track.

Are Sim-Lab steering wheels compatible with my wheelbase?

Sim-Lab steering wheels are designed for PC and use USB for wheel data together with a standard 70 mm mounting pattern. This makes them compatible with a wide range of direct drive wheelbases.

Depending on the wheelbase, you may need the appropriate hub or quick-release adapter for the mechanical connection. Always check the compatibility information on the individual steering-wheel product page before ordering.

How do Sim-Lab steering wheels connect to a PC?

Sim-Lab steering wheels use USB to communicate with the PC. When paired with a DDS TorqueSync™ Direct Drive Wheelbase and XERO-PLAY™ V2, compatible wheel data can pass through the quick release and wheelbase for a cleaner connection. With other compatible wheelbases, the steering wheel connects directly to the PC via USB for data, while the hub or quick-release adapter provides the physical connection to the wheelbase.

Are Sim-Lab steering wheels compatible with consoles?

No. Sim-Lab steering wheels are designed for PC, and they are not supported on PlayStation or Xbox.

What is the difference between an F1 steering wheel and a GT steering wheel?

F1 and Formula-style steering wheels are typically more compact, with an open shape and controls positioned for quick access during single-seater racing.

GT steering wheels are generally larger and use rounder or D-shaped designs suited to GT, touring and endurance cars. The best choice depends on the type of cars you drive most and the steering-wheel shape you prefer.
